After spending 15 years in a Surgical Trauma ICU, I decided to move into dialysis—a field that had always intrigued me throughout my nursing career.
However, during my initial orientation, the idea of a patient’s blood circulating outside their body was incredibly intimidating. The dialysis machine itself seemed daunting, and my fear often overshadowed the confidence I’d built from years of nursing experience.
I wish I could have trained in a safer, less stressful environment. This desire inspired me to create a Dialysis Simulator, providing a space where nurses could practice without fear.
No one should have to learn while feeling scared.
