S-WORLD’s 3 in 1 Dialysis Simulator is a one of a kind innovation that allows for training in dialysis using 3 different accesses.
The learner has the opportunity to train in a non-threatening, safe environment, making mistakes without harm to patients.
3-in-1-Dialysis-Simulator-Instructions
Fill and Play:
Add water to the simulator reservoirs until completely filled, eliminating all air.
For Hemodialysis:
Add dye to mimic fake blood (This option is used only if you are using a dialysis machine that has had the blood leaker detector disarmed and the dialysis machine is allocated for SIMULATION USE ONLY and not used on HUMAN PATIENTS).
Connect the bloodlines to the dialysis simulator catheter or cannulate artificial graft and connect to AVG needles and proceed with a full dialysis session.
Note: Dialysis can be fully simulated with or without artificial blood.
The dialysis simulator has been tested for QB 400 ml/min and up to 8 hours without fail.
It is important to note that if you set the machine for ultra-filtration, that amount will be removed from the reservoir. Best practice is to use the following settings if using treatment times greater than one hour:
QB 200 – 400 ml/min
QD 100 – 300 ml/min (minimize use of dialysate)
UF 300 ml over 15 mins to 8 hours (reduce risk of air in reservoir before end of treatment)
Note: Always return UF removed plus additional fluid at end of treatment to refill reservoir.
For Peritoneal Dialysis:
Connect the simulator to a programmed Cycler or perform a prescribed CAPD session.
Cycler session has been tested for up to 8 hours without fail.
